What is Enterprise Max?

Enterprise Max is the highest tier of Perplexity Enterprise. It adds more Perplexity Computer credits, Model Council, higher usage limits, and premium security features to everything in Enterprise Pro.

Your organization can buy Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max seats and give each member the tier they need. See How Enterprise seats work.

How safe is Enterprise Max?

Enterprise Max includes every security and privacy protection in Enterprise Pro, and adds premium security features for organizations of any size.

  • Compliance: Perplexity Enterprise meets SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR, and PCI DSS compliance standards.

  • No training on your data: Your organization’s data is never used to train or fine-tune Perplexity’s models. Perplexity’s agreements with third-party AI model providers, such as OpenAI and Anthropic, also prevent training on Perplexity data.

  • Single sign-on: Connect your identity provider with SSO.

  • Data retention: Files attached to sessions are deleted after seven days on every Enterprise plan. With an Enterprise Max seat (or at least 50 Enterprise Pro seats), administrators can also choose how long sessions are kept. See Data Retention for Enterprise.

  • Controlled access: Access to production data goes through internal tools that require authentication and access control, and usage data is collected only in aggregated or anonymized form.

See the Trust Center for certifications, the subprocessor list, and other security documentation.

Key features

Enterprise Max includes everything in Enterprise Pro, plus:

  • More Computer credits: Each Enterprise Max seat includes 15,000 Perplexity Computer credits every month, compared with 500 on Enterprise Pro. Members on an Enterprise Max seat also get a one-time sign-up bonus of 40,000 credits. The bonus is a limited-time offer and expires in about 30 days. See How Credits Work for Enterprise organizations — Member Guide.

  • Higher limits for file and app creation: Create reports, dashboards, spreadsheets, presentations, and web applications with higher limits than on Enterprise Pro.

  • Higher limits for Deep Research: Generate comprehensive reports on complex topics, using autonomous, multi-step analysis, with higher limits than on Enterprise Pro.

  • More video generation: Generate more videos each month. See Generating videos with Perplexity.

  • Model Council: Consult several models at once for research, complex decisions, or verification. Available on web and in the iOS app. See What is Model Council?

  • More file uploads: Attach up to 1,000 files a week across sessions, compared with 100 on Enterprise Pro. See Enterprise file limits.

  • Premium security features: Organization-wide access to SCIM, Audit Logs, configurable Data Retention, and the Insights dashboard for organizations of any size, as long as you have at least one Enterprise Max seat. Without an Enterprise Max seat, these features need a minimum of 50 Enterprise Pro seats.

  • Brain (Research Preview): Brain is a self-improving memory system that builds a working model of your projects, people, and documents to give Computer richer context.

  • Early access to new features: Try the latest features and products before they’re available to everyone else.

For current limits on each plan, see How do the plans compare?

Billing and payment

The billing answers on this page apply to organizations that pay Perplexity directly by card. Organizations on sales-assisted contracts keep their existing seat and billing behavior. If you are not sure which applies to your organization, contact your account team.

How much does Enterprise Max cost?

Enterprise Max costs $325 per seat per month, or $3,250 per seat per year.

If I upgrade from Enterprise Pro to Enterprise Max, does my balance carry over?

No. The Enterprise Pro seat the member leaves stays purchased and becomes Available, and no refund or credit is created. You can assign that seat to someone else, or lower your Pro seat count in Billing, which takes effect at the start of your next billing period.

A billing period is the time between two billing dates. If you pay monthly, it lasts one month; if you pay yearly, it lasts one year, counted from the date your subscription started or last renewed. A change that takes effect at the start of your next billing period applies on your next billing date.

I want to upgrade from Enterprise Pro yearly to Enterprise Max monthly. Is this possible?

Yes, but all seats share one billing period, so your whole organization moves to monthly billing. Contact us via Help > Contact Support.

Can Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max seats be on different billing periods?

No. All seats in your organization share one billing period, either monthly or yearly. To switch your organization between monthly and yearly billing, contact us.

If I upgrade a member to Enterprise Max, will I be charged immediately?

It depends on whether your organization has an Available Max seat.

  • You have an Available Max seat: No. The member moves to that seat, and nothing is charged.

  • You don’t have an Available Max seat: Yes. The confirmation buys a new Max seat, and you’re charged today. The charge may be prorated, and the confirmation shows the amount due before you select Purchase and assign.

Your renewal date doesn’t change.

What am I charged at renewal?

Your renewal covers every seat your organization has purchased in each tier, whether or not it is assigned. Removing a member or changing their tier does not lower the charge. To pay for fewer seats, an administrator reduces the seat count in Billing.

I’ve purchased Enterprise Max by accident. Can I get a refund?

If you’ve made an accidental purchase, contact us via Help > Contact Support. For refund windows and eligibility, see Refunds. This does not affect your statutory rights.

User management

How do I upgrade to Enterprise Max?

Administrators can move members to Enterprise Max from the Members screen in Organization settings. Each move needs an Available Max seat, and the confirmation buys one if you don’t have it. To add Max seats in advance, go to Organization settings → Billing, select Adjust seats in the Seats section, raise Max seats, and select Next. Review the charge, then select Purchase seats.

Members can also send an upgrade request to their administrators. This is on by default, and an administrator can turn it off with the Allow members to request Max upgrade permission. Approving a request follows the same seat rules as moving the member yourself. See Enterprise roles and permissions.

How do I move my entire organization to Enterprise Max?

  1. Go to Organization settings → Billing and select Adjust seats in the Seats section.

  2. In Update seats, raise Max seats to cover everyone you are moving, check the Cost change, and select Next. Review the charge, then select Purchase seats.

  3. On the Members screen, change each member’s tier to Enterprise Max. Each move uses one of the Available Max seats.

  4. Back in Billing, select Adjust seats, lower Pro seats, and select Confirm. The reduction takes effect at the start of your next billing period. Until then, you keep the Pro seats you’ve already paid for.

Can my organization have different members in different tiers?

Yes. Enterprise organizations can deploy a mix of Pro and Max seats, depending on their needs.

How do I downgrade a member to Enterprise Pro?

Administrators can move members from Enterprise Max to Enterprise Pro from the Members screen in Organization settings. The move needs an Available Pro seat, and the confirmation buys one if you don’t have it. The Max seat the member leaves stays purchased and becomes Available, and no refund or credit is created.

Moving a member to a lower tier can still generate a charge, and it does not lower your bill. To pay for fewer Max seats, lower your Max seat count in Billing. The change takes effect at the start of your next billing period.

How do I move my entire organization to Enterprise Pro?

  1. Go to Organization settings → Billing and select Adjust seats in the Seats section.

  2. In Update seats, make sure the Pro seat count covers everyone you are moving. If you raise it, check the Cost change, select Next, review the charge, and select Purchase seats.

  3. On the Members screen, change each member’s tier to Enterprise Pro.

  4. Back in Billing, select Adjust seats, lower Max seats, and select Confirm. The reduction takes effect at the start of your next billing period. Until then, you keep the Max seats you’ve already paid for.

Can I apply Enterprise Max to specific SCIM user groups?

Yes. Within the SCIM configurator (via WorkOS), organization administrators can configure user groups based on both role and tier.
