How do I control what Comet has access to?

Comet gives you full control over what the Assistant can see and act on.
Manage access anytime in Settings → Privacy and security:

  • Comet Assistant — allow or prohibit Comet to access your browser history, navigate the web, and interact with sites

  • Block tasks on specific websites — add sites you don’t want Comet to use for AI actions or context

For example, you can block your bank’s website so Comet won’t use that page for any tasks or suggestions.

How Comet Assistant uses your data

  • Your data stays on your device by default. All browsing data, including visited sites and cookies, is stored locally.

  • Comet only sends minimal context to Perplexity when needed to complete a request (e.g., summarizing an open tab or booking a service).

  • You control integrations. If Comet needs access to another service (like Gmail), it will always ask for approval first.

  • Comet never has access to your passwords or payment data.

Tips

  • You can always pause Assistant’s access or block specific sites anytime.

  • For fully private sessions, use Incognito mode, which prevents Assistant from indexing your browsing activity.
